Highmark Extends Group Medical Sales Incentive

Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield has announced that they are extending their New-to-Blue Sales Incentive program through June 30, 2012.  This program applies to new, fully-insured New-to-Blue group medical business with effective dates between 2/1/12 and 6/30/12.

Highlights of the program are:

  • Bonus payments that can be earned are attractive
    • 51-99 enrolled contracts = $1500
    • 100+ enrolled contracts = $2500
  • Payments will be sent directly to the actual direct writing producer
  • All business must be written through the existing GA relationship that is in place as of 2/1/12 in order to be eligible for the bonus

Bonus Available for Group Dental Sales

Don’t forget about the Neishloss & Fleming Group Dental Cash & Gas promotion for 1st Quarter of 2012!  In an effort to reward agents who are consistently promoting the value of Group Dental programs to their clients, our Health Division team wants to pass out some extra incentives.

Quote any Group Dental (United Concordia, UPMC or Health America) with effective dates of 2/1/12 or 3/1/12 and automatically be entered into our drawing for a $50.00 Gas Card.  All quotes must be produced by February 15, 2012.

Sell any Group Dental (United Concordia, UPMC or Health America) with effective dates of 2/1/12 or 3/1/12 and receive a $5.00 per contract bonus – payable directly to you – for each contract in force effective 2/1/12 or 3/1/12.  All sales must be submitted by February 29, 2012.

The drawing for the Gas Card will be held March 1, 2012.  Bonus payments will be released during the March.

Insurers Testify Before PA House Committee

Highmark Issues Open Letter on WPAHS

Yesterday, in several local newspapers, Highmark issued an Open Letter to the community concerning a number of items:

  • The motivation and intent behind partnering with West Penn Allegheny Health System
  • The status of the contract situation with UPMC
  • Highmark’s commitment to the region

Highmark and West Penn System Look to Affiliate

Highmark Inc. and the West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) on June 28,2011 announced their intentions to pursue an affiliation aimed at maintaining the health system as a choice for health care services to millions of Western Pennsylvanians.  As part of the initial arrangement, Highmark is immediately providing a $50 million grant to the WPAHS, enabling the health system to sustain and strengthen its West Penn and Forbes Regional hospitals while assuring the continued delivery of quality medical services by the entire system.

Highmark is making a total financial commitment of up to $475 million over four years, including $75 million to fund scholarships for students attending medical schools affiliatedwith WPAHS, and to support other health professional education programs.
